Chicago retailer Ann Kienzie, owner of the toy store Play, opened Shop 1021 in June, 2012 to meet the gift and home decor needs of her existing client base shopping in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago. Dark wood floors, exposed brick walls and tin ceilings serve as a dramatic backdrop to a signature collection of home and office décor items, books, stationery and specialty gift items.

“Shop 1021 is the perfect dramatic setting for my Chicago-themed collection of photography prints,” enthuses Boyle, who notes that she and Kienzie networked through CRAVE (www.thecravecompany.com), a resource for women entrepreneurs. CRAVE is a global community which connects savvy business owners. Through online networks and in-person events, CRAVE introduces like-minded entrepreneurs and offers innovative ways to boost business.
